Wrong Time, Right God

God parts water after you step.

GM. This is Soul Food we share bible knowledge like passing down a family recipe – with care, tradition, and a pinch of secret spice.

β˜€β˜€β˜€ Here's the forecast today:

Here is a question. When is the best time to cross a river? When it is at its narrowest and calmest, right? Makes complete sense.

So why did God tell Joshua and the Israelites to cross the Jordan at harvest time? Because harvest time is when the Jordan is at its widest. The banks are flooded. It is the worst possible time to cross.

And yet, that is exactly when God said go.

Here is what I love. The priests had to step into the water first. Not when it parted. Not when it was comfortable. They stepped into cold, fast-moving water before anything happened. Wet ankles, uncertain footing, and zero guarantees.

Then God moved.

This is the pattern. You step in before it makes sense, and God parts the water after your feet are already wet. Waiting for the perfect moment is not faith, it is procrastination dressed up in a sensible coat.

The Jordan was at its widest. The timing was terrible. God still made a way.

Stop waiting for conditions to improve. Step in.

πŸ”‘πŸ”‘πŸ”‘ Key takeaways:

  • God often calls us to move at the worst possible time, not the best.

  • Faith means stepping into the water before it parts, not after.

  • Perfect conditions are not a prerequisite for God to move.
