🗺️🗺️🗺️ Here’s what’s on the map:
Okay, okay, so here we have Elijah, and the boy is running! He is running because he is scared of Jezebel coming to kill him, even though he just killed 450 false prophets and called down fire on an offering after he had soaked it in water. It’s a bit crazy to think Elijah would be scared of one person after defeating so many and seeing God’s power on display like that!
Nevertheless, we can say that Elijah is running because he is scared that Jezebel will kill him. So, in essence, Elijah is scared of death. But one thing Elijah never experienced in his life was death. In 2 Kings 2, Elijah gets taken to Heaven in chariots of fire. So this means that Elijah was running, scared and anxious for no good reason.
Can I propose that this may be the same with you today? Are you running from something, scared of an event, or anxious about a future outcome that may not happen? Instead, rest and rest in God. Understand that He is on your side, and He is fighting your battles today and for the future. You have no reason to worry when your Heavenly Father is for you and goes before you.
🔑🔑🔑 Key takeaways:
Elijah’s fear of Jezebel shows us how we often run from things that never come to pass.
God is always in control—rest in the knowledge that He fights your battles.
Fear and anxiety lose their power when we trust in God’s plan for our lives.
