What are you Known for?

What does a furious driver teach us about shining God’s light?

GM. This is Soul Food. Where we make the bible feel like a party you never want to leave.

☀️☀️☀️ Here’s the forecast:

In the Bible, there is someone called Jehu, a military commander known for his ruthless execution. 2 Kings 9 tells us a story about Jehu riding his chariot towards Jezreel. But if you know Jehu, you’ll know that he doesn’t just ride his chariot – no, this is no Sunday drive. Instead, Jehu drives his chariot furiously. In Hebrew, the word for “furiously” translates to the word “madman,” meaning Jehu is a crazy driver. Yes, God uses crazy drivers too!

He drives so furiously that the man on the watchtower was able to spot it was Jehu from a long distance away. This means that Jehu was known for the way he drove. So, the question is: what are you known for? Are you known as someone who is encouraging, optimistic, or courageous? Or would people say the opposite?

I would like to encourage you to be known for the light inside of you – through your words, actions, and how you make people feel. When people see you from a distance, may they see a light shining in the distance. That is who you are meant to be! We are all carriers of Jesus, and therefore, everywhere we go, He is there too.

🔑🔑🔑 Key takeaways:

  • Your actions define how others perceive you – like Jehu, your behaviour is your signature.

  • Be a beacon of light – strive to be known for your encouragement, optimism, and faith.

  • Carry Jesus wherever you go – let your presence remind others of His light and love.
