The Secret to Doing the Impossible: Look at Jesus, Not the Storm
Don’t let life’s circumstances hold you back – fix your eyes on Jesus.
GM. This is Soul Food we’re like your morning coffee – essential, energising, and slightly addictive. (And we promise not to stain your shirt).
☀️☀️☀️ Here’s the forecast today:
Today we are talking about a Hall of Fame Bible figure – yes, that is the academic definition. His name is Peter.
Peter did something most of us haven’t done. Cut someone’s ear off, I hear you cry? No, Peter walked on water.
However, when Peter was walking on water, the Bible says he saw the wind and the waves, and he started to sink. This means before he saw the wind and waves, he was looking elsewhere; he was looking at Jesus.
I don’t know about you, but whether there is wind, waves, sunshine or moonlight, walking on water does not become any easier.
The point being that to do the impossible, the circumstances do not matter to God.
Instead, Peter took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the circumstances. So, fix your eyes on Jesus and maintain that posture.
🔑🔑🔑 Key takeaways:
• Circumstances do not matter to God. The wind could be raging and the rain pouring, but it makes no difference to God or His plan for your life.
• Fix your eyes on Jesus and maintain that posture.
• You will be called to do things that are so breathtaking that people will not believe you. Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep moving forward.
