Stay Close

Keep your eyes fixed and blessings become obvious.

GM. This is Soul Food, where every bible story is as electrifying as the opening credits to your favourite show.

🍍🍍🍍 Here’s what’s fresh today: οΏΌ

When Elijah was about to be taken to heaven, he asked Elisha what he wanted. Elisha replied that he wanted a double portion. Elijah said it was a difficult request, but if Elisha saw him when he was taken up, then it would be his.

And what happened? Elisha saw it. Not because he climbed a mountain or completed a task list, but because he stayed close. When the chariots of fire appeared, it was impossible to miss. The requirement sounded difficult, but in reality it was simple: keep your eyes on the one God told you to follow.

This is the picture for us. We often think God’s blessings require long battles, deep struggle or complicated effort. Yet most of the time, the only real instruction is to keep your eyes on Him. When your priorities are right, your focus follows. Elisha’s focus was fixed, and the blessing came easily.

God does not hide blessings behind locked doors. He places them right in front of those who stay close enough to see. Keep your eyes on Him and you will find the path clearer than you expected and the desires of your heart already on the way.

πŸ”‘πŸ”‘πŸ”‘ Key takeaways:

  • Focus brings blessing. Elisha received because he stayed close.

  • God makes direction obvious when our eyes are on Him.

  • We do not earn blessings; we receive them by staying aligned.
