Look In The Mirror
You carry His image.
GM. This is Soul Food where we add the spice that makes the Word come alive.
πππ Here's what's in stock today:
In Matthew 22, the Pharisees tried to catch Jesus out with a tax question. Jesus asks for a coin, holds it up and asks: "Whose image is on this?"
Caesar's, they replied. "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and give to God what is God's." Matthew 22:21
Simple. Brilliant. Done.
But here is where it gets good. The coin carried Caesar's image, so it belonged to Caesar. Now look in the mirror. Genesis 1:27 tells us you are made in God's image. Which means you belong to God.
Jesus was not just settling a tax debate. He was making a statement about identity and ownership. You are stamped with His likeness and you belong to Him.
So what does it look like to give God what is His? It means giving Him you. Your time, your energy, your obedience, your praise. All of it. Hold nothing back.
You are God's currency. Give Him what is His.
πππ Key takeaways:
The coin bore Caesar's image and belonged to Caesar. You bear God's image and belong to God.
Giving God what is His means giving Him all of you, not just the spare parts.
You are not your own. You were made in His image and stamped with His likeness.
