Faith Over Fear
Why God uses small things to win big battles
GM. This is Soul Food, your bible training camp β building your bible muscles one insight at a time.
π°π°π° Here's the menu today:
Sometimes the smallest actions create the biggest breakthroughs. When the Philistines gathered their massive army with 30,000 chariots, 6,000 horsemen, and soldiers, the Israelites were overwhelmed. Most hid in caves with fear.
But Jonathan saw something different. While his father Saul sat passively under a pomegranate tree, Jonathan declared to his armour-bearer: "Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few" (1 Samuel 14:6).
With just his armour-bearer beside him, Jonathan climbed up to face the Philistine outpost. Together, they killed about 20 enemies in what seemed like a small skirmish. But God had other plans.
That tiny victory triggered divine panic throughout the entire Philistine army. The ground shook, confusion erupted, and the enemy began striking each other. What started as two men taking action became a complete victory over thousands.
The Israelites emerged from their hiding places and joined the chase, driving the Philistines back completely.
Your small step of faith today might seem insignificant, but God specialises in turning mustard seed moments into mountain-moving victories. Don't wait for perfect conditions - step out with whatever you have.
