Delays & Detours: God’s Plan is Bigger Than You Think

Lessons from Joseph: Trusting God in the Unknown

GM. This is Soul Food, the newsletter that's like a USB flash drive full of bible knowledge – small, but mighty.

🚨🚨🚨 Here’s what’s on the radar today:

Joseph was given dreams from God about his future, showing him that he would one day be in a position of great influence. But his life took a series of unexpected and painful turns: his brothers sold him into slavery, he was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and he was thrown into prison for years.

At any point, Joseph could have doubted God. He could have questioned, “Why is this happening to me? Where are the promises God gave me?” But he remained faithful, trusting that God was still working, even when it didn’t make sense.

Years later, Joseph was promoted to second-in-command over Egypt, and his brothers bowed before him, just as God had shown him in his dreams. What seemed like a series of betrayals and setbacks was actually God preparing him for his purpose.

The lesson? Delays and detours don’t mean God has abandoned you. Sometimes, He is positioning you for something greater than you can imagine.

🔑🔑🔑 Key takeaways:

  1. What looks like a setback may actually be a setup for something bigger.

  2. Joseph’s faithfulness in difficult seasons prepared him for his promotion.

  3. Trusting God doesn’t mean we’ll always understand — it means believing He is working, even when we don’t see it.
