Beyond the Noise
Move in harmony with the Spirit's perfect timing
GM. This is the Soul Food, we help you slice through bible news like a game of Fruit Ninja.
π₯π₯π₯ Here's what we're serving up today:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soulβ¦" Psalm 23:1-3
The place of still waters or stillness is where the believer yields fully to the Holy Spirit. Waters in Scripture often serve as reference to the Spirit (John 7:38). Stillness is the disposition of the soul under the Spirit's influence. It is separation from the world's influence and submission to God's.
At this place: The mind is renewed. Your thoughts are replaced with the thoughts of God. You begin to think and act like Christ. The voice of God becomes distinct above the noise of the world, the enemy, and the flesh.
Stillness does not necessarily mean silence. It means alignment with the motions of the Spirit. At times, the Spirit may lead you to sing, your singing becomes the place of stillness. At other times, He may lead you to shout, your shouting becomes the place of stillness. When the people of Israel shouted and the walls of Jericho fell, they were in alignment with God.
Stillness, therefore, is not about outward quietness but about inward alignment with the Holy Spirit. The first place the Spirit leads every believer is the place of still waters. It is here that the soul is restored, reconfigured, and aligned with the Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and align with Him in stillness.
πππ Key takeaways:
Stillness is internal alignment with the Holy Spirit, not external silence
God's voice becomes clear when we separate from worldly influence
True stillness means moving in harmony with the Spirit's leading
